Legal Aid of Nebraska provides information, referrals, advice, self-help services, limited assistance and representation to qualifying low-income individuals with legal problems that fit within our housing priority.
Our Objectives:
Prevent Loss of Housing
Enforce Right to Safe and Habitable Housing
Preserve Right to Obtain and Maintain Housing
Common Legal Issues We Help With
Eviction
Denial or termination of public or subsidized housing benefits (e.g. Section 8 voucher)
Landlord has unlawfully changed locks or shut off utilities
Mobile home evictions
Default or delinquent on mortgage payment
Homestead exemption
Unsafe living conditions in rental unit
Denial of reasonable accommodation request due to disability
Return of security deposit
Utilities shut off or at risk of being shut off
Foreclosure
Tax liens on real estate
