Legal Aid of Nebraska offers free legal advice and/or representation in order to provide access to justice to those who are struggling with legal issues caused by or affected by medical issues. In collaboration with medical professionals at a number of area hospital systems, Legal Aid of Nebraska helps to ensure that low-income patients are able to meet their basic needs for food, housing and utilities, education and employment, health care, and personal and family stability and safety.

Matters caused or affected by medical issues where we normally help:

  • Powers of attorney, living wills and wills
  • Social Security Disability or Supplemental Security Income cases, including terminations and overpayments
  • Housing issues
  • Family law (including adult guardianships)
  • Special education

We may also be able to help with:

  • Consumer matters caused or affected by medical issues
  • Employment matters caused or affected by medical issues
