We are pleased to announce the reopening of the Access to Justice Center in Lincoln! As you are probably aware, we were forced to close the Access to Justice Center in Lincoln after the President’s Day Office Fire. The Lincoln Legal Aid Office relocated to 826 P St., Second Floor, and we have now opened the Access to Justice Center. We are fully staffed with three attorneys and volunteer law clerks to meet with clients, provide information and advice, and assist with self-help representation. Our public computer lab is fully functional and ready for client use.
As of Monday, May 14, the Access to Justice Center is open in Lincoln for walk-in hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 am – 11:30 am. Clients will be asked to complete an application to determine income eligibility, citizenship or documentation, and to screen for conflicts. Eligible clients can meet with an attorney that day without an appointment. Parking is available at meters and area parking garages (garage parking is free for the first hour). Unfortunately we do not have a public parking lot, but it is our hope that morning hours will make it easier for clients to find parking.
Please call or email if you have any questions.
Thank you for your patience and support as we have worked to recover from the fire. We are happy to reopen and look forward to being available to help clients again!
