This video provides a brief introduction to Legal Aid of Nebraska’s guide to Special Education, and some of the rules you should be aware of when looking at this guide. This guide is intended to help a parent, guardian, or child advocate represent their child during the special education process. This guide includes simplified overviews of the special education process as well as more in-depth coverage of regulations and documentation regarding certain aspects of the special education process, such as Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings . Finally, we’ve included options for when you disagree with a school/agency decision regarding your child’s special education.
We encourage you to know as much about the special education process as possible, so feel free to explore each section, or only the sections you have questions about. You can start by looking at our overview of Special Education.
