Medical-Legal Partnership


Legal aid of Nebraska’s Medical-Legal Partnership Project is a joint medical legal collaboration designed to improve the health and welfare of patients and their families. The partnership offers free legal advice and/or representation in order to provide access to justice to those who are struggling with medical/legal issues.

About us

Legal Aid of Nebraska’s Medical Legal Partnership Project is an interdisciplinary team of health care staff, attorneys, and paralegals who integrate legal assistance into the medical setting as a vital component of patient care. Since 2009, the Project has provided free legal assistance to patients at Omaha hospitals to prevent stress over legal issues and allow for better health outcomes.

By addressing both the legal and medical needs of a patient, the Legal Aid of Nebraska Medical Legal Partnership Project helps to ensure that low-income patients are able to meet their basic needs for food, housing and utilities, education and employment, health care, and personal and family stability and safety. Our services include direct legal assistance, medical provider training and system-wide advocacy.
