Domestic Violence Outreach Coordinator -Native American Program (Omaha or Bancroft)

Legal Aid of Nebraska seeks an Outreach Coordinator for its Native American Program. The position is based in the Bancroft or Omaha office. With the support of the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska, Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, and Santee Sioux Nation, Legal Aid’s Native American Program has developed a program to help end domestic violence and other forms of victimization in Nebraska’s Native American communities.  The Outreach Coordinator will assist in an community outreach and education campaign in Nebraska’s Native American Communities, including the Santee and Winnebago Tribal Reservations and the Ponca Service Delivery Area, designed to improve community response to domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and stalking, and increase knowledge of Legal Aid of Nebraska’s services.  The Outreach Coordinator will also develop an education program to increase community understanding of the dynamics and effects of domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and stalking.  Travel to Omaha, and throughout Northeast Nebraska required. Applicants should have excellent written and oral communication skills. Ideal candidate will have a connection to Native American and domestic violence issues. State-of-the-art-technology. Managing Attorney (Scottsbluff)

Legal Aid of Nebraska seeks a Managing Attorney for its Scottsbluff office.  Managing Attorneys have administrative responsibilities and supervise Legal Aid Attorneys in a wide array of legal services. These services include extensive trial practice, general advocacy, working with social service providers and other partners, as well as handling an active caseload.   Managing attorneys are representatives of Legal Aid of Nebraska in their communities and work collaboratively with legal and non-legal partners to address pressing legal needs of low-income residents through outreach and legal education, advocacy and representation.  Successful applicants have intermediate to advanced knowledge of poverty law and intermediate knowledge of administrative techniques, fundraising and supervisory skills. Applicants with litigation experience in housing, family law, consumer law or public benefits are preferred. Excellent supervision, training and support provided. State-of-the-art-technology. Staff Attorney (REACH Initiative North Platte)

Legal Aid of Nebraska seeks a staff attorney for the REACH Initiative (Raising Effective Advocacy for Crime Victims Health and Safety). The position will be located in North Platte. REACH Initiative attorneys will bring legal services to communities in central and western Nebraska by providing a range of civil legal services to low-income victims of domestic violence, elder abuse and exploitation. The attorneys will travel regularly to rural communities to establish and maintain community partnerships, conduct community education, and provide quality civil legal services.

Successful applicants will have good research, writing, litigation and communication skills. Successful applicants will also have a demonstrated interest or experience in advancing goal of equal justice for all. Must be admitted to Nebraska bar or out-of-state bar with pending waiver application to Nebraska bar.

Must have a current driver’s license and properly licensed and insured vehicle.
